In 2013, Yogrishi Vishvketu and the Ashram founded a charitable school named Sansar Gyaan Pathshala meaning ‘World Knowledge Lessons’. The eco-friendly School offers free education, uniforms and books to over three hundred underserved girls and boys in rural Uttar Pradesh, India, about 1.5 hours from Rishikesh
The School offers a regular curriculum, plus enhanced learning in Yoga and Indian Wisdom Traditions. We have worked hard to promote girls education and have achieved a parity of girls and boy at the school. Children excel when families participate in their education and growth. The School works with the community to help parents learn creative, educational games that are fun for the whole family. We encourage parents to learn more about nutrition and to share time being active with their kids outdoors.
The School was built with the support of Helping Hands for India, a Canadian registered charity that is run by an international team of Akhanda volunteers. The School requires ongoing support for operations, maintenance and to pay teachers’ salaries. We also rely on donations to purchase much needed items to help a child achieve, such as books, food and clothing.
